PlugInConversions using Nilar NiMH, EV1 and RAV4-EV

Back

We can't buy an EV1 or RAV4-EV, but use of this picture of the EV1 (and the glimpse of the RAV4-EV) shows how the EV1 could have been used to help sell other cars. The new plug in conversions battery box and firmware shows how plug-in conversions must be done; the control system has to keep the battery less than full, so that it can opportunity-recharge when braking to a stop or going downhill. The "spoofing" board has to communicate with the Toyota on-board computer, so that it can't determine that there are additional batteries; Toyota installed a routine that detects and defeats extra batteries, it has to be fooled.
