African dawn hyaena feast
BackThe beauty of an African dawn belies the goings on of last night. Spotted hyaenas are feeding on the rotten remains of a hippo carcass on the shores of Malilangwe dam. The hippo probably died fighting with a territorial bull. A high ranking female is not interested in feeding with a male hyaena. He eventually gets to feed when she moves off.
