Security Council (UN) never authorized the invasion to begin with, the 'preemptive strike' was done anyway regardless of what the UN said which is an illegal act of aggression in international law, consider the constitution for that, all laws added to the charter is american law also, so the war was illegal to begin with

The Iraq War was justified and was the correct thing to carry out. The post war phase is what the issue is. Rumsfeld leaving his post really has helped things get better. The surge should have been implemented right after the initial invasion.
